As the Optus Digital Media group has grown and developed, we started looking externally for new clients for whom we could lend our expertise.
One such client was Football Federation Australia. With minimal prep time, I quickly sourced some images and mocked up a few sites to use in our pitch.
Obviously FFA were impressed as our pitch was successful and we were chosen to create the FFA's websites and more.

A version of Optus ZOO for Blackberry.
In addition to the layout, this job involved creating background images, GUI elements, a splash screen, new logo, and active/inactive states for icons.

ZOO is one of Optus' main web portals. The ZOO brand and site were in need of some updating.
The header advertising was removed to allow a bigger, darker, bolder logo and a splash of colour thrown in for fun. I replaced the solid yellows and teals with neutral colours, using yellow only to highlight. The top navigation was simplified through the use of drop-downs and the fonts modernised throughout the site. White space was increased to create a lighter and simpler page.

This was a concept for icons and that was put on the shelve for possible future use.
We have many products and all of them need icons.

When I first read the brief for this, I thought it was some kind of joke. Then it occurred to me that movies have different names in other countries. In fact, the people who came up with this app name probably never saw the movie 'Sixth Sense' with Bruce Willis, but by the time this came to me, the name had already been finalised.
Not sure if it ever went to market.

Singtel has a small team of innovators they call Idea Factory. They needed a logo, of course.
This was my favourite concept, but in the end the client chose a more literal interpretation - a factory...with 'idea factory' written on it.

Inspired by Mugatu's Derelicte collection.

As a major sponsor of the Socceroos, Optus did many promotions leading up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
That means I got to play around with some great assets, with images of rhinos, lions, tigers etc playing soccer with Socceroo players. I didn't want to shrink the images down too much so I had them rolling out the sides of the Optus websites for maximum impact.

Just my everyday work. Keeping the myZOO website looking fresh and clean.
